A Full Red Surge

Memo to The Globe & Mail's copy editors: It's spelled s-e-r-g-e, not s-u-r-g-e.

For those not sure what I'm talking about, the Globe's prairie edition features a king-sized photo of two Mounties bearing the Grey Cup, over this caption: Two RCMP officers in full red surge escort the CFL's famous championship trophy into a Grey Cup Festival event in Vancouver yesterday.

I'm not seeking out a Harriet Miers-like reputation for fastidiousness, but ignorance about one of our few national symbols bugs me.

Sadly, the photo of the surging Mounties is not on the (public part of the) web-site.
