America, F**k Yeah!

While March Madness occupies everyone's minds, it's worth remembering that there's some sort of baseball tournament also going on right now. And it's quite exciting too; I rather enjoyed what I saw of last night's Cuba-Panama and Korea-Japan matchups.

Korea's win over Japan opens the door for the Americans to make the Semi-Finals, should they squeeze by Mexico tonight. The Americans send Roger Clemens to the hill, which is a slightly more reassuring statement than "the Americans are down to their last at bat and Alex Rodriguez is coming to the plate."

Here's what Team USA's Manager had to say about it:

Martinez said there's no better big-game pitcher in baseball than Clemens, the 43-year-old right-hander who might be pitching his final game.

Is Buck Martinez talking about Roger Clemens? If so, this might explain why he's no longer managing in the big leagues.

I love the Americans, and hope they win. But if they do, I have a feeling it will be because of their hitting and how their bullpen.

Update: Though he certainly wasn't terrible tonight, Roger Clemens still took the loss as Mexico eliminated the United States.

He gave up both runs in his 4 1/3 innings of work. Big game pitcher indeed.
