Vince Young Wins Football Games

He pulled another one out yesterday with this overtime run. His performance all day may not have been a masterpiece, but like most Sundays (or Saturdays in the past), he made a big play when it counted.

Oh, God. Ya, that QB rating of 73.6 has the greats shaking in their boots.

His record as a starter is impressive (I think he's 6-1 now, and only lost a couple of times in 3 years at Texas).

Also, his QB rating when the game is on the line is probably 185.8

He's 6-3.

Actually, it's 65.7, since the game is "on the line" the moment it begins.

6-3 as a rookie surrounded by an average at best supporting cast is pretty damn impressive.

Your numbers can't quantify the full effect on the game. QB rating should be more accurately described as passer rating, since it doesn't account for his rushing totals, and the way defenses have to account for the threat of him taking off.

Through college and his first 9 starts, he's demonstrated a knack for making big plays to keep his team in the game and to pull out a win. That's not exactly an ordinary trait.

All Vince Young Does Is Win Football Games. I'm hoping to make this stick in the vernacular of football cliches.

That's an awful argument, since it implies that he has nothing to do with the team ever being tied or behind, only with them winning the game. If he's as much of a winner as you say he is, his teams wouldn't be in those situations.

He has 10 passing TD's, and 11 interceptions. Even if you add in the 5 running TD, it's nothing to write home about.

Hey, where the hell is the YouTube video of that brawl at the Knicks game tonight? I really wanna see Carmelo attempt to sucker punch a guy, and then run away. The NBA...it's FANTASTIC.
