The Rules Of Being A Sports Fan: No. 51

Always wear your allegiances on your sleeve.

If you have favorite teams, and loyalties, make sure other sports fans know about them, as soon as possible. There's nothing worse than finding out later on that your friend cheers for a certain team or player.

Relevant example: I invited a buddy over to watch baseball today, only to find out shortly thereafter that he cheers for the Yankees. As a die-hard Red Sox fan, I was horrified. Don't let this happen. It's like hooking up with a girl, then having her tell you after the fact that she has a STD.
