Keep Manny!

I found this site courtesy of an espn.com story. Some fans have started an online petition to try and convince the Red Sox to keep all-star slugger Manny Ramirez. The site is appropriately found at keepmanny.com

Here's what the petition reads:

To: The Boston Red Sox Organization
I, as a member of Red Sox Nation, firmly believe that it is in the best interest of the Boston Red Sox to retain the contractual services of one left-fielder Manuel Aristides Ramirez (aka Manny.)

There's also the opportunity to comment on what you would be willing to do to keep ManRam in a BoSox uniform. Good for a laugh if you have the kind of free time to browse through over 5000 signatures. I only clicked on one page, and found these goodies. I can only imagine what the entire list holds:

From 'Mike': I'd sign this petition. unless we traded him for pujols.

From 'Kevin Hartnett': To keep Manny I would watch the 2003 ALCS with Steinbrenner.

From 'Stephen Pitt': Spend an hour with Carl Everett.

So to any of our readers who also happen to be members of Red Sox Nation, here's your chance to participate in the grassroots process and try to keep Manny in a Sox uniform. Unless you want him gone, then you can ignore this post. Also, feel free to share your thoughts on Manny, or what you'd be willing to do to keep him in town, in our comments section. Especially you, Bill Simmons, on the odd chance that you read this site.
