The Sky Is Falling. Again.

ESPN is leading their From the Top feature with these words:
Fall From Grace? After losing free agents Rafael Furcal and Kyle Farnsworth, the Braves’ stranglehold on the NL East appears in jeopardy. SportsNation wonders if the dynasty is finally over.
Change the player names, and this is no different than what’s been written by the commentariat for most of the past five seasons. Everyone wrote-off the Bobby Cox crew in 2005, and he proved them wrong. Until the Braves actually falter, can we please have a moratorium on pre-season predictions of their demise?

I hate the Braves.

I agree, Avi. They have a great group of young players, many of whom just hit the majors last year (McCann, Francouer), and are in the running to add a Julio Lugo or Edgar Renteria to replace Furcal in the lineup.

Even if they do nothing to replace Furcal's production, I stand by my theory about John Schuerholz' Faustian bargain.
