What Is Going On Here?

**UPDATE** Another stunning upset for the Swiss, defeating Canada 2-0.

So I just checked the scoreboard online, and Switzerland is leading Canada 2-0! It looks like the game is in the Second Intermission, so I'm assuming CBC or TSN (who's showing Sweden-Latvia right now) will switch back once it starts up again.

I'm speechless right now. The Swiss got rolled by the Fins, but pulled out a suprising win over the Czechs - who I assumed lost the game because they were largely rattled by the absence of The Dominator. Now, they're getting another strong goaltending performance, this time by Martin Gerber. He's stopped all 25 shots throught 2 periods, and has the other favorite in the tournament on the ropes, while former Montreal Canadien Paul DiPietro has scored both Swiss goals.

Stay tuned. This is going to be interesting.

And I slept in thinking it would be a relatively easy win for Team Canada. I guess being up and watching it would have sucked too, though.

It'll be interesting to look at the standings at the end of the day today.

Jagr got absolutely shellacked, with Elias and Hasek also out, it would appear the Czechs ( and the Eastern Conference) are under some kind of hex.

If Canada doesn't come out tomorrow and play like a wounded animal, I have serious doubts about their mental readiness in this tournament. Gerber played out of his mind, but losing 2-zip to the Swiss seems completely out of character.

The Czechs looks like they may have mailed it in, their game against Italy tomorrow could be a big let down.
