Forget Dwayne Roloson...

...Team Canada is currently leading Team USA 7-0 in the top of the 4th inning in Game 2 of the World Baseball Classic. The Americans are being booed, and the commentators have just noted that the tournament's mercy rule might come into effect. Seven runs, eleven hits on three pitchers by the Canadian team, and the 4th isn't even over yet.

I guess this will get everyone's attention in the U.S. Hearing these announcers, one becomes aware how bad our commentators must sound when they call an international hockey game. These guys are acting like this tournament is an American birthright, rather than noting that there are a lot of good teams who can win this thing. It isn't like Canada is, um South Africa, and our team would be even better if Gagne and Harden were pitching.

Canada has just made two bad fielding mistakes, and given up a walk. Hopefully this post hasn't Bucked them.

Oh My God, Adam Stern just hit an in-the park homerun!!! That is a 4 RBI day for the 9th batter in the Canadian order. 8-0, Canada.

I should also note that many of the rules in this tournament are ridiculous, particularly those protecting the pitchers. Leave it to Major League Baseball to screw up the easiest of events. I wonder if they will call the game if it is tied in extra innings, too?

Fuck. I did Buck the, 8-6 after a Jason Varitek grand slam in the bottom of the 5th. If we were able to use our bullpen for more than one game in a row, this might not be a problem.

A pox on Harden and Dempster for bailing on this tourney.

These substitutions are ridiculous. Am I the only one who's expecting to see Rob Ducey out in Left Field one of these innings?

The announcer just said "Edmonton Cracker Cats". I giggled. He then said he wanted to get his hands on a Cracker Cats hat. Sutcliffe then said he would assuredly be getting one in the mail, now.

Adam Stern is my new favorite player. That was a Wllie Mays-like catch in the bottom of the 8th. Why did we trade for Coco Crisp?

And Steve Nash was there, too! Drinking beer, of course. I hope they get loaded on Pilsner tonight!
