Shaq Attack

Thank God for Shaquille O'Neal. After the Oilers disheartening defeat tonight at the hand of NHL referees the Carolina Hurricanes, I am in need of a good, solid laugh. And boy, has The Big Aristotle ever delivered. At a press conference today, Shaq dropped the following howitzers:
"I think we have gotten better in each category. Bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh. Type that. Try and type that."
Pretty good, but this one took the cake:
More Shaq humor came at the end of his availability, when a reporter asked him that if a snake bit his mother in the chest, would he suck the venom out to win another championship?

"No, but I would with your wife," O'Neal said.

That last passage really doesn't even do justice to how awesome O'Neal's joke was. Try and look for it on the t.v. highlights. It is well worth it. I would also be happy if anyone could explain to me why the hell a reporter would ask a question like that. Does it have something to do with Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant?

I am certainly going to add these beauts to the Collected Works Of (Big) Aristotle. I look forward to many more coming out following the Miami Heat's total domination of the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. Heat in 5.

The Finals always attract all kinds of gawkers, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't a 'reporter' asking that question. Maybe someone from MTV or something, or a buddy from Shaq's entourage, or some other wannabe journalist. No real print reporter would have time for nonsense like that.

He and the reporter seemes to know each other. They were all laughing as he stepped of the podium. It might have been Mo Rocca from The Tonight Show, or maybe a local reporter who he had a running joke with. Shaq didn't even seem surprised that the guy asked the question.

The reporter was Corby Davidson from a sports talk radio station in Dallas (1310 KTCK). For reasons no one understands, Shaq has always been amused by Corby and his very offensive questions. You can see Shaq laughing and pointing to Corby after the question. During a phone interview earlier this season Corby asked Shaq if "He would rather have sex with his grandmother or play like Shawn Bradley?"

1310 The Ticket's Corby Davidson, lovingly known here in the Dallas area as "Cobra", or "Snake".
Shaq just outright loves him. Saturday before the Heat practiced, Cobra got him one-on-one with a line of questions similar to the one earlier in the week. The kicker is, it took the Heat's PR department forever to get Shaq to his media session. On his way there he spotted Cobra, and asked if he wanted to do something then. Corby did what the PR staff couldn't do, and that was tell Shaq he was needed in the media room more.
Corby is basically the Tickets "yuk monkey" But does some real good bits, like "The overcusser" where he'll interview someone and fire off curse word after curse word in hopes that whatever athlete he's interviewing plays along.
www.1310theticket.com - He's part of the Hardline which airs from 3:00pm-7:00pm central.
